Becoming Jana

I Believe there are no rules when it comes to make up. You can do anything about it, and be anything because of it. I was Born and bred as the first born from three boys, in a small village in Tabanan regency, Bali, Indonesia. I didn't know back then that I will become a make up artist I am Today. But the interest in fashion and beauty has been a part of me. My first experience with make up started when I was small kid. I secretly stole my mother's pink Lancome lipstick and tried it on myself because I really want to see what the color was. And I ended up wiped it all over my face. Playing with Barbies hair and dresses, reading fashion magazines and observed my aunt, who has small beauty salon, also has big influence into making me natural born beautician.

You know, I have never experienced beauty courses or went to college after I graduated from high school. Then the Big opportunity came when my mother decided to take me to have learning experience in Singapore for almost six months in 2001, for mostly hair, and then I moved to Batam and got my first job experience there as a beautician. I have learned day by day then, and I was started to collect make up equipment,. I remember the first thing I have got was Dior make up palette from a friend. And I started to play with it whenever there was a model to be painted on. I was thrilled.

Back to the Island in 2003. I decided to try something new and then I worked at my Uncle's workshop as an assistant designer. Dropped off and I was having fun making my own design of dresses, just for fun, and I was also working for my aunt's beauty salon, until 2005 I entered the most prestigious property at The Ritz Carlton Bali resort and spa as a beautician supervisor and wedding hair and make up. It has been an exciting four years for me where I dealt with so many brides from all over the world, and VIP clients yet some celebrities for an events or photo shoot in the hotel. In 2009 in order to pursue my future career, I decided to left the property and started my own freelance job until today. Spending my time for make up and fashion, also determined to do make up as more as I can, to make women look more beautiful without being anyone else. To help them to be more confident, fulfill their requests and to create something that can change their lives. I personally built a relationship with my clients, to be more personalized and to spark the chemistry and creativity for satisfying result. Make up and fashion is my passion, it's in my soul, it's my playground. And I do it with love.
